Steven Spileberg's Jaws coming to Blu-ray on August 14, 2012

2012 will be a great year for Steven Spielberg fans if Universal Studios Home Entertainments plans hold true. The original summer blockbuster Jaws is expected to be releases on Blu-ray August 14, 2012. That major release will more than likely be followed by a 30th Anniversary Edition of the beloved classic E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial.

By the way, there are rumors that one or more of the sequels to Jaws may find their way to Blu-ray on the same day. Stay tuned.

***VIDEO QUALITY***

2011 World Series arrives on DVD with a 480p transfer in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. This is a pleasing standard def downgrade of the HD shot games. Colors were strong with crisp whites. Detail of the gorgeous stadiums and uniforms was good. No major signs of edge enhancement or compression were noticed. 8/10



***AUDIO QUALITY***

Audio is provided by a Dolby Digital Stereo 2.0 track. There is some decent stereo separation to bring you into the game. The broadcast commentary is crisp and clean. The highlight of the track is to listen the radio announcer play-by-play that is joy to hear as a baseball fan when watching this milestone. 8/10
