***MOVIE REVIEW***

Here is what I had to say for my Season One review of the show "Since 1982, after seeing "E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial" I've been fascinated with what civilizations, or creatures are living past our atmosphere. The thought that possibly some alien beings began planet Earths civilizations is a fun idea, thought one that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The series is full of fun history facts and items, mixed with theories of aliens having a hand with this. If you've ever looked up in the sky wondering who else is out there, or looked at the Pyramids in Egypt and wondered how did humans create one of the great wonders of the world then this always interesting show is for you." 8/10

***VIDEO QUALITY***

Best of Ancient Aliens arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. This transfer is a collage of various sources including vintage footage, newly shot HD location footage and interviews, CG effects, etc. The HD filmed sequences exhibit nice color saturation and strong black levels. Vintage film or video footage was sometimes soft and noisy, but nothing to mar the overall enjoyment of the image. A very nice presentation.8/10

***AUDIO QUALITY***

Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track. Dialogue was crisp and clear throughout. There are some subtle pans between the front two channels providing good stereo separation. A clean if not very exciting presentation.7.5/10

Titanic: 100 Years In 3D - Blu-ray Review

***SYNOPSIS***

To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking, TITANIC: 100 YEARS IN 3D combines stunning 3D HD imagery of the wreck with powerful untold stories of passengers and crew, letting audiences experience the real life drama of Titanic in a way never before possible. In 2010, an unprecedented expedition by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and RMS Titanic, Inc. went on location to document the entire wreck site of Titanic, using high-resolution optical video, sonar, acoustic imaging, and 3D HD video and acoustic modeling. These incredible visuals will be accompanied by the untold stories of people who were on the ship, narrated in voice-over by actors. Each person’s story will be linked with one or more recovered artifacts that connect to that passenger or crewmember. These haunting artifacts and unforgettable personal stories of average people take viewers back in time, making the history of Titanic as vivid as it was yesterday.

Titanic: 100 Years arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Not a knockout 3D image, but there are some solid effects like individual dirt particles, items that have been buried in the ocean deep for decades and more. The talking head interviews exhibit some nice depth. Color saturation was balanced well. Fine detail was solid with a very sharp image but there were instances of a somewhat dim and noisy scene due to the limitations shooting underwater. 8.5/10

***AUDIO QUALITY***

Audio is provided by a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. While it is disappointing we don't get a HD track what is provided is a solid performer. Narration and dialogue was perfectly crisp and clear. Surrounds were used to greatest effect when the events that led to the grand ships demise are dramatized. Bass was avrerage. 7.5/10

James Bond Gadgets arrives on DVD with a 480i transfer in the original aspect ratio of 1.33:1. These shows were originally aired in 2002 and 2004 so they were filmed in the infancy of HD so the image as expected is good but a little underwhelming. Colors were good but never had a lush saturation. Black levels wavered a bit. There were noticeable instances of softness and noise in the image. 6/10

***AUDIO QUALITY***

Audio is provided by a Dolby Digital Stereo 2.0 track. Dialogue was crisp and clean. Stereo separation was basically null. Fine watching through tv speakers but not worth putting your main rig on for. 6/10
