Fuller House: The Complete First Season DVD Review

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

**SYNOPSIS**

On Fuller House, eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure, Full House, A Christmas Detour) is now a veterinarian and recently widowed mother trying to raise three boys on her own. She is joined by her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin, Full House, Walt Before Mickey) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber, Full House, The Skateboard Kid 2) and Kimmy’s teenage daughter Ramona (Soni Bringas), who move in to lend their support and help raise D.J.’s kids.

**SERIES REVIEW**

Back in the early 90's I was a TGIF kid who religiously was plopped in front of the tv set to watch the infamous block of ABC comedies at that time. The most beloved and still watched all over the world in reruns was Full House. Skip to present day and we have Fuller House, a revival of the sitcom that was debuted on Netflix last year. While some of the original magic is gone from the original I did find the show does have quite a bit of heart and it's nice to see everyone back over the run of episodes, please note the Olsen twins do not appear though. I would recommend picking this one up to catch up with old friends from one of your favorite Friday night comedies. 8/10

**VIDEO QUALITY**

Fuller House: The Complete First Season is presented in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio. - Color reproduction was pretty much excellent. Vivid girly colors to comforting earth tones help colors pop. Fine details were good and the overall image was crisp and clear. Black levels exhibited solid depth . 9/10

**AUDIO QUALITY**

Audio is provided by a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. - Dialogue was crisp and clearly presented. Surrounds usage was used mostly for opening up music and the sitcom laugh track. I wasn't expecting much bass in these episodes but when engaged the LFE channel performs with precise and detailed bumps. No signs of hissing or pops. 8.5/10

**SPECIAL FEATURES**

While it would have been nice to have a nostalgic look back at the series or a behind-the-scenes in creating the new show, sadly no bonus features have been added.

**SYNOPSIS**

The story of a family’s complicated love, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds is an intimate portrait of Hollywood royalty in all its eccentricity. Fisher and her mother, Reynolds, live in the same Beverly Hills compound. The 83-year-old grand dame has a Las Vegas act, but performing is taking its toll. Carrie’s response is both hilarious and heart-rending. Featuring vintage family films that bring iconic old-world Hollywood to life, as well as extensive vérité footage, the film is directed by Alexis Bloom and Fisher Stevens and screened at the Cannes, Telluride, and New York Film Festivals in 2015.

**DOCUMENTARY REVIEW**

Bright Lights is a bittersweet but beautiful and intimate look at Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. Sadly Carrie passed away on December 27, 2016 with her Mother Debbie passing only a day apart. It was like both couldn't exist without the other. You get a sense of that during this documentary. You can see how much love their is between them but their was strain in the relationship over the years.

There are many funny and unintentionally funny moments that helps the viewer cope with the terrible loss of both film legends. I would highly recommend purchasing the Digital HD of Bright Lights. 9/10
