Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced they will release DCU: The Death of Superman to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on August 7, 2018. The 4K Blu-ray specs are set to be 2160p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and a audio track to be determined. Below are the official details:

The Death of Superman ultimately finds Superman in a fight to the finish when the Man of Steel becomes the only hero who can stand in the way of the monstrous creature Doomsday and his unstoppable rampage of destruction.

As the inaugural film in the DC Universe Movies series, Superman Doomsday told an abridged version of “The Death Of Superman,” DC Comics’ landmark 1992-93 comic phenomenon. But with a runtime of 75 minutes, the film focused on a core, singular storyline. The new, animated The Death of Superman, the first of a two-part film experience that will conclude with Reign of the Supermen in early 2019, restores many of the moments and characters that fans hold dear to their hearts.

The all-star cast is led by Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan, Stand By Me), Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) and Rainn Wilson (The Office) as the voices of Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively. The potent trio is joined by the DC Universe Movies’ returning voices of the Justice League: Jason O’Mara (The Man in High Castle, Terra Nova) as Batman, Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Rent, Daredevil) as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore (S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds) as Cyborg, Nathan Fillion (Castle, ABC’s upcoming The Rookie) as Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, and Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs, Ugly Betty) as The Flash.

The Matrix 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Review

**SYNOPSIS**


Perception: Our day-in, day-out world is real.

**MOVIE REVIEW**


The Matrix was released March 31, 1999 and movies have never been the same. This was a groundbreaking film mixing jaw dropping effects, balletic fight sequences and a mind blowing story that will make you think. Nineteen years later nothing has changed as it remains one of the all time great action movies and elements of the story are more relevant than ever with our relation to technology and A.I. 10/10


**VIDEO QUALITY**


The Matrix arrives on 4K UHD Blu-ray with a 2160p presentation. - The standard Blu-ray included in this set also takes advantage of the brand new mastering of the original negative. The disc is a significant upgrade from the original Blu-ray released back in 2009. 9/10 for the standard Blu-ray.

The 4K Ultra HD presentation for me was like seeing the movie for the first time all over again. Black levels are exceptionally inky, while never sacrificing shadow detail. Speaking about detail hardcore fans of the film are going to be blown away by the detail in almost every scene. Every little divet in Morpheus's face, every single line in clothing or fabric textures. I noticed details in wood and different surfaces that were never seen on past releases on home video. The clarity is quite striking.

Color reproduction is a revelation as well. We finally have crisp, bright whites for the simulation and training sequences, the real world is a mix of cold blues and deep blacks, when characters are in the Matrix the tone is more green with warmer primaries. The woman in the red dress pops off the screen. HDR performance makes it well worth taking the red pill to see how far this rabbit hole goes. Bright highlights in flashlights, crisp computer displays, the sparks from a train screeching to a halt and the blue electricity bolts around the Nebuchadnezzar. This is one of the best 4K releases to date. 10/10 for the 4K Ultra HD disc.


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a Dolby Atmos track. - Whoa! This new Atmos presentation takes the sound to new heights. Surrounds are constantly engaged with crystal clear effects and brilliant use of the extra channels to immerse you into this world. LFE performance was full of deep, chest thumping bass that will throttle you. No muddiness in the subs just consistent power. Dialogue reproduction was crisp and clear throughout. The score by Don Davis is still quite thrilling and fits this film perfectly. It sounds the best it ever has. There is not a single detractor to this track , just absolute perfection. 10/10

LEGO DC Super Hero Girls: Super-Villain High DVD Review

**SYNOPSIS**


After a mysterious school opens across the street, the students of Super Hero High find themselves up against a new threat. Now, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl and the rest of the DC Super Hero Girls not only have to worry about the well-being of their grades, but the safety and security of friends, family and the rest of civilization. The girls must figure out how to put a stop to this evil, new cross-town rival and save the world once again!





**VIDEO QUALITY**


LEGO DC Super Hero Girls: Super-Villain High arrives on DVD with a transfer in the aspect ratio of 1.78:1 - Colors were cheerful and full of bright, bold primaries. The animation was solid and crisp. Contrast was excellent. There are moments of light banding but nothing the target audience will even notice. 8/10


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. - The voice acting was solid enough. Dialogue was presented crisp and clear in the center channel. Surround usage was effective for the fun action scenes. Bass response was deep but not room rattling. 8/10
