**MOVIE REVIEW**


Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is supposedly the last film in the franchise that began way back in 2002. I've always enjoyed the series and was overall very pleased with how it ends for now. There are some twists that I could see coming a mile away but won't fault it too much as they were good choices to move the story and tie everything together. This is an entertaining movie with barely and slow down. There are quite a few callbacks to the series that are fun for dedicated fans. Milla Jovovich was a perfect pick to play Alice and you can't help but root for her to put an end to the Umbrella corporation and save what's left of the world from the T virus. I give this Blu-ray a recommend to add it to your collection. 8/10


**VIDEO QUALITY**


Resident Evil: The Final Chapter arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the aspect ratio of 2.40:1 - Director Paul W.S. Anderson goes for a very dark and graded down look for this one. Colors are restrained and the only vivid color pops come from the Red Queen, deadly lasers and a little more warmth in the palette in an underground bunker. Black levels are inky deep. The image overall is crisp and detailed even in night scenes, which is for most of the movie. 8.5/10


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track. - There is a hardly a moment to catch your breath from the aural assault. When Alice is chained to a tank with zombies chasing behind her you feel as though you are right in the middle of it all. When it's time for the last few humans to unite and try to hold off the Umbrella corporation and the massive zombie horde the wall of sound coming from the various weapons is startling. Surrounds are used to great effect for atmosphere when Alice has to return to Racoon City to find an antivirus underground where the original film took place. LFE performance was monsterous showcasing deep explosions, chest throttling gunshots and heavy tanks rolling through the apocalyptic wasteland. Dialogue reproduction was crystal clear and voices were easily heard over the mayhem. 9.5/10

Unforgiven 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Review

**SYNOPSIS**


In Arizona in the late 1800s, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Crowe) and his vicious gang of thieves and murderers have plagued the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Bale), struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch, volunteers to deliver him alive to the “3:10 to Yuma,” a train that will take the killer to prison. During the grueling expedition, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other’s respect. However, with Wade’s posse on their trail, the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man’s destiny.








**VIDEO QUALITY**


Unforgiven arrives on 4K Ultra HD 2160p transfer in the aspect ratio of 2.40:1 - One of the finest westerns ever made gets a newly remastered Blu-ray and a 4K version of the new master. The standard Blu-ray shows great signs of improvement in color saturation, detail and shadows over the original Blu-ray release. Keep in mind that Clint Eastwood's masterpiece has always been a dark film where some blacks appear crushed. The 4K presentation shows it's worth in more detailed blacks and color reproduction benefits from HDR. This is the best Unforgiven has, and I think for a long time into the future can look. 9/10


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. - This is a significant improvement over the original Blu-ray's Dolby Digital 5.1 presentation. Dialogue was always intelligible and crisp. The track has much better dynamic range. The LFE channel shines with thunderous booms during stormy weather, gunshots have the right amount of punch. Surround effects were varied with cold wind blowing through and bullets passing overhead or to your side. No signs of hissing or pops in the track. 9.5/10

**SYNOPSIS**


LIFE is an intense sci-fi thriller about a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station whose mission of discovery turns to one of primal fear when they find a rapidly evolving life-form that caused extinction on Mars, and now threatens the crew and all life on Earth.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa and written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, LIFE was produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn; with Don Granger and Vicki Dee Rock serving as executive producers.
