Veronica Mars: The Movie on Blu-ray and DVD May 6

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced they will releasing the fan funded feature film Veronica Mars: The Movie to Blu-ray and DVD on May 6, 2014. The Rob Thomas directed film stars Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring. The Blu-ray specs are 1080p video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track for audio. Burbank, CA, April 3, 2014 – Following a successful theatrical release that was spurred into development by a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, “Veronica Mars” arrives onto Blu-ray and DVD on May 6 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Based on Rob Thomas’ beloved television series and inspired by demand from fans, “Veronica Mars” stars Kristen Bell as a former high-school sleuth who thought she left her past behind her, until a murder in her home town pulls her back into her old life.

Directed by the television series’ creator Rob Thomas from a screenplay by Thomas & Diane Ruggiero, “Veronica Mars” also stars Jason Dohring, Krysten Ritter, Ryan Hansen, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowel, Tina Majorino and Enrico Colantoni, all returning to the roles they originated in the television series.

“Veronica Mars” will be available on Blu-ray for $29.98 and on DVD for $28.98. The Blu-ray features the theatrical version of the film in hi-definition and a digital version of the movie in Digital HD with UltraViolet.


**SYNOPSIS**


Veronica Mars (Bell) has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her on the eve of graduating law school. While interviewing at high-end law firms, Veronica gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan (Dohring) who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

Walking With Dinosaurs The Movie Blu-ray Review

**SYNOPSIS**


The gigantic voice talents of Justin Long (Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise) and John Leguizamo (Ice Age franchise) take you on a thrilling prehistoric journey the whole family will enjoy! In a time when dinosaurs rule the Earth, the smallest of the pack — a playful Pachyrhinosaurus named Patchi — embarks on the biggest adventure of his life. As he tries to find his place in a spectacular world filled with fun-loving friends and a few dangerous foes, Patchi will discover the courage he needs to become the leader of the herd...and a hero for the ages.





**MOVIE REVIEW**


Visually breathtaking but marred by the decision to have cutesy dialogue drive the action on screen. I understand that for the little ones this will be an eye popping and fun watch with the familiar voice of John Leguizamo from the blockbuster Ice Age franchise doing their best with the script they are given. The CGI blended against some beautiful location plates is what makes this at least worth a rental but for the adults it would be best to tune out sound. Please note that their is a "Cretaceous Cut" included with the 3D Combo pack of the film that removes the opening and closing moments with the human characters and all the dialogue. 7/10


**VIDEO QUALITY**


Walking With Dinosaurs The Movie arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the aspect ratio of 2.39:1 - Colors pop off the screen with lush saturation of greens, sun baked hues and beautiful water. Black levels were deep and inky throughout. Fine detail is excellent with clarity that is quite striking. The CG Dinosaurs are a wonder to look at with their skin textures and muscle movement. I didn't notice any signs of banding or digital noise. There are several demo worthy scenes with this brilliant presentation. 10/10


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. - Well let's get the unnecessary voiecover dialogue out of the way first, as expected with a new film it was crisp and crystal clear. This is an immersive and dynamic track especially during some thrilling dinosaur fights. Surrounds create a wonderful sense of being there in these gorgeous locales. The LFE channel provides some thunderous bass when the action calls for it and added some heft to the score. 9.5/10
