Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced they will be bringing home the comedy Baggage Claim to Blu-ray combo pack and DVD on February 4, 2014. The film stars Paula Patton, Taye Diggs and Derek Luke. The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Audio will be provided by a DTS-HD Master 5.1 track. **SYNOPSIS**


How far would you go to protect your family? Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces his release.

As the police pursue multiple leads and pressure mounts, knowing his child’s life is at stake the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. **MOVIE REVIEW**


It isn't often in this day and age when there is an intelligent and grown up thriller released in theaters and I was very glad to see that change this past September with Prisoners. The cast really is terrific and the standout for me is Jake Gyllenhaal's Detective Loki. He plays them with a controlled intensity that he unleashes on his boss and rest of the police station or the several red herring suspects. He does this little tick where he blinks and in an interview I saw during the promotion of the film he said he added that because people with a high IQ have a tendency to blink more than most. Hugh Jackman pretty much strips away all his past work with a portrayal of a father who will stop at nothing to find his little girl and I honestly for most of the films running time I forgot Jackman was in it and just associated them as his character Keller Dover.

I don't want to spoil any of the twists but will say Paul Dano does a superb job making the viewer feel sympathy for him and at the same time questioning if they are guilty of such a horrible crime. Roger Deakins cinematography is a sight to behold and hopefully he gets nominated again after his loss with Skyfall at last years Academy Awards. Director Denis Villeneuve balances quiet and haunting scenes with moments of torture that will be brutal to most viewers. The twists and misdirections are quite thrilling even on a second viewing and the film ends on a not of hope and faith in my opinion. Absolutely one of the best films of 2013 deserves to be in your collection. 9.5/10


**VIDEO QUALITY**


Prisoners arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the aspect ratio of 1.85:1. - A 70's film like presentation that brings all the tension to the home screen quite well. Colors are decidedly muted to portray the mood of the characters thought there are moments with some bursts of color such as a deep red whistle, a beautiful and warm yellow glow from a nighttime candle vigil, or the bright pink bedroom of one of the kidnapped children. Black levels were deep with good shadow delineation in some very dark scenes. Fine detail was excellent on close ups, fabrics and stitching of clothing, the varied patterns on snakes, and the drawings of mazes on a suspects walls. In closing this is transfer faithful to the theatrical presentation and the Director's vision. 9/10


**AUDIO QUALITY**


Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. - Hauntingly quiet moments turn into startlingly dynamic bursts of rage and it all ties together with the beautiful score by Jóhann Jóhannsson. The score is perfectly balanced into the mix and really get's several moments to shine. Dialogue whether softly spoken whispers or the shouting brutality of Jackman's character was always crisp and clear. Bass was tight and precise when the more thrilling moments take place. Surround activity is consistent with natural and enveloping environmental effects that take the viewer on a foot chase in the middle of the night or into a creepy cellar under a church and will make you feel tiny and trapped at the bottom of a hole later in the film. 9/10


**SPECIAL FEATURES**


* Prisoners: Every Moment Matters (HD, 3min5sec) - This is basically an extended trailer of the film with clips of cast and crew speaking on the plot of the film.

* Prisoners: Powerful Performances (HD, 9min24sec) - This featurette gives a bit more insight from the cast and crew talking about how great it was working with such a talented cast. Unfortunately half it's running time is clips of the film you just watched.
