Bad Moms Blu-ray Review

**SYNOPSIS**

Written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover Trilogy, Four Christmases) and produced by Suzanne Todd, (Alice Through The Looking Glass) and Bill Block (Dirty Grandpa), the comedy also features Jada Pinkett Smith (The Women), Christina Applegate (Anchorman 1 &2), Annie Mumolo (The Boss) and Jay Hernandez (Suicide Squad). It’s time to party like a mother with this hysterical and relatable film.

In this hilarious and heartfelt comedy from the writing duo behind The Hangover, Amy (Mila Kunis) has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However, she's over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she's about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) and her clique of devoted perfect moms (Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo).

**VIDEO QUALITY**

Bad Moms arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the aspect ratio of 2.40:1. - The color palette has that bright and cheery look of modern comedies. Contrast is a tad overcooked in outdoor scenes. Black levels were deep and inky. The image is sharp but there are few moments where it has a softer appearance. Fine details in the bad moms clothing and hair stand out well with good definition. 8/10

**AUDIO QUALITY**

Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track. - Dialogue reproduction was excellent across the board, even for the soft spoken Kristen Bell who's character is meek at the start of the movie. Surround activity was used mainly for subtle outdoor effects and letting the music bleed into the surround channels. While this is a 7.1 track I didn't feel it was necessary as the track is mostly front heavy. The mix of music genres leads to a good amount of rich bass from the LFE. No pops, hissing or cracks to report. 8.5/10

***SYNOPSIS***

BURBANK, CA (October 19, 2016) – Join one of television’s hottest crime-solving teams, Angie Harmon (Law & Order) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS), as they solve some of Boston’s most complex cases on the final season of Rizzoli & Isles, available on DVD January 17, 2017, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE). Titled Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete Seventh & Final Season, this release will feature all 13 episodes from the beloved series’ last season, plus a gag reel that features material from all seven seasons. Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete Seventh & Final Season will retail for $29.98 SRP. Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete Series will also be available on DVD January 17, 2017. This set will retail for $169.99 SRP.

Based on the best-selling crime thriller books by Tess Gerritsen, Rizzoli & Isles focuses on tough-as-nails Boston police detective Jane Rizzoli (Harmon), who has an uncompromisingly brash and beautiful bull-in-a-china-shop approach to both cases and life, and the brilliant medical examiner from a privileged background, Dr. Maura Isles (Alexander), who may be the best-dressed science nerd in New England. Together, they are close friends and complete opposites who solve some of Boston’s most notorious crimes.

For Jane and Maura, the final season of Rizzoli & Isles, is the most thrilling and dangerous one yet. The first episode picks up right where season six left off, during the aftermath of the shooting at Korsak’s wedding reception. The team must use every tool at their disposal to find the elusive Alice Sands, whom they’ve been trying to hunt down and bring to justice before she destroys Jane’s life. Season seven also brings some of the most challenging mysteries to date, as well as the return of friends and family members. Wills are tested, love blossoms and everyone looks ahead into the future as their lives move forward.

“Rizzoli & Isles has remained a solid, enduring hit throughout its run. Viewers have enjoyed Jane and Maura’s heartwarming friendship. It was one of the elements that drove the show to become such a success,” said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, TV Marketing. She added, “We are pleased to offer the final season of the #1 series on TNT!* Now fans can complete their collections and own the entire series on DVD.”

During its seventh season, Rizzoli & Isles continued to deliver over six million total viewers per episode.*

Fans can now own all seven seasons of Rizzoli & Isles in one complete set. Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete Series is a comprehensive DVD box set that features every episode from every season of the popular series.

In addition to Harmon and Alexander, the series stars: Jordan Bridges (Rushlights, Mona Lisa Smile) as Frankie Rizzoli Jr., Jane’s younger brother who is now following in her footsteps as a detective; with Bruce McGill (Lincoln, Law Abiding Citizen) as the seasoned and lovable Detective Vince Korsak, Rizzoli’s former partner; and Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos) as Jane’s nosy but warm-hearted mother, Angela Rizzoli, who moved into Maura’s guesthouse after her recent divorce and works at the coffee shop inside the Boston Police Department. Idara Victor (TURN: Washington’s Spies) stars as crime scene analyst Nina Holiday. Adam Sinclair (24: Live Another Day) who stars as Kent Drake, the quirky assistant medical examiner in Maura’s office, becomes a series regular.

Rizzoli & Isles is produced for TNT by Ostar Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Developed by Janet Tamaro (Sleeper Cell), the series is executive produced by Bill Haber (TNT’s Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King) and showrunner Jan Nash (Without a Trace, Unforgettable). Ken Hanes (Make It or Break It) and Greg Prange (Masters of Sex) are co-executive producers.
