Star Wars Episode VII the first new film in that universe to be released by Disney has found it's director. Uber Star Wars geek J.J. Abrams is a great choice and did a superb job with rebooting the Star Trek franchise. As a fan of the classic trilogy and finding the prequel to be good but not as great this a good start in the right direction to such an acclaimed Director/Producer attached.
J.J. Abrams has also produced or directed for LOST, FRINGE, Felicity, Alias for television and for the big screen Super 8, Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Mission Impossible 3. Director Ben Affleck was also considered to helm the movie and it goes to show how sought after this gig is and that Disney wants to do right by the sci-fi saga.
