Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced they will be releasing the shark attack thriller The Shallows to Blu-ray 4K UHD, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on September 27, 2016. The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track, while the 4K UHD Blu-ray will feature 2160p video and a Dolby Atmos track. In the taut thriller, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Anthony Jaswinski, THE SHALLOWS was produced by Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem, with Doug Merrifield and Jaume Collet-Serra serving as executive producers.
