Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray Review of Changes

The internet has been abuzz with the confirmation that George Lucas has seen fit to tinker even further with the beloved original trilogy. In my opinion the change that is the worst is the decision to have Darth Vader yell "Noooooooooo" when he picks up the Emperor to save his son Luke at the end of Return of the Jedi. What was once the most powerful and important scene in the whole series has now been ruined and will give most any fan horrible flashbacks to the same "NOOOOOOOOO" that was used in Revenge of the Sith.

In regards to the other changes the Obi-wan Krayt Dragon scream is a disappointing change but not the worst. The Ewoks blinking is barely noticeable and not worth getting bent out of shape. My favorite addition is the CGI Yoda in The Phantom Menace due to the fact that I never felt the puppet looked as good or realistic in the original trilogy. Please understand that I by no means mean to disregard against Frank Oz and his fine work.

I feel to speak any further until I receive the actual discs and have time to review all 6 films fully would be disrespectful to my readers and the crew that has worked on the Blu-ray release.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Company announced today the 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray™, and DVD release of the all-new animated family comedy, HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL, heading to retail on August 16, 2011. Directed by Mike Disa and produced by Kanbar Entertainment, the team that brought you the original HOODWINKED! film, HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL is based on the beloved classic children’s fairy tale Red Riding Hood. The sequel features the voices of an all-star ensemble cast including Hayden Panettiere, Glenn Close, Joan Cusack, Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Patrick Warburton, David Alan Grier, Andy Dick, Brad Garrett, Martin Short, Heidi Klum, Wayne Newton, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. Here’s what the critics have to say about HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL: “Hilarious!” (Nell Minow The Chicago Sun-Times) “Innovative! A superb sequel and entertaining treat for the whole family.” (Judith Manigault, Family Media) “A procession of pop-culture send-ups delivered at light speed, interspersed with affirmative messages about exercise, proper diet and – so refreshing in this kind of movie – girl power.” (The New York Times)

The good... the bad... the Twitchy. HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL finds our heroine, Red (Hayden Panettiere), training with a mysterious covert group called the Sisters of the Hood. But Red is forced to cut her training short when she gets an urgent call from Nicky Flippers (David Ogden Stiers), the head of the super secret Happily Ever After Agency, aka the HEA. A wicked witch (Joan Cusack) has abducted two innocent children, Hansel (Bill Hader) and Gretel (Amy Poehler), and Nicky needs the whole Hoodwinked gang – Red, Granny (Glenn Close), the ever-clueless Wolf (Patrick Warburton) and his over-caffeinated little partner, Twitchy (Cory Edwards) – for the search and rescue mission.

Fracturing fairy tales and pop culture with good-natured glee, HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL takes viewers on a rollicking rollercoaster ride combining edge-of-the-seat adventure with classic, zany cartoon antics.

The HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray™, and DVD bonus features include music videos by Hayden Panettiere (“I Can Do It Alone”), Lavay Cole (“You Know It”) and CEEJ (“Perfect Two”); a “The Voices of Hoodwinked Too!” featurette; storyboard sequences; production artwork; and video game applications. BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR

The Soaring Midnight Movie Sensation of 2010 Swoops Down Onto Blu-ray and DVD on February 22, 2011, Carrying a Load of Must-See Bonus Material in Its Talons

“A high-flying cult hit!” – The New York Times

“A cult classic – the best worst movie of all time!” – CBS News

New York, NY – It is a tender love story. A graphic horror shocker. An urgent ecological warning. And around the world, it became the must-see midnight movie sensation of the year. From writer/producer/director/visionary James Nguyen – The Master of the Romantic Thriller – comes BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR, perching onto Blu-ray and DVD from Severin Films on February 22, 2011, with an SRP of $29.98 and $24.98, respectively.

An outrageous homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR caught the attention of such mighty media powers as CBS News and The New York Times when Severin Films released it in more than 50 cities, where it enjoyed sold-out midnight showings. Judged an instant cult classic and hailed for its chutzpah as much as its cinematic ingenuity, the movie is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Alan Bagh stars as Rod, a Bay Area software salesman (named in apparent tribute to The Birds star Rod Taylor) who has just made a million-dollar deal. Riding high on his success, Rod snags a date with Nathalie (Whitney Moore), his former high school classmate who has become a knockout lingerie model. They hit if off immediately but awake from their first night together in a quaint seaside town to the horror of eagles and vultures swooping down and attacking the locals, turning this picturesque locale into an avian hell on earth.

Hollywood legend Tippi Hedren of Hitchcock’s 1963 classic makes a special appearance in the global cult movie phenomenon that Videogum says “might end up being the greatest film of all time!”

In addition to equally high praise from The New York Times and CBS, BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR was called “our crazy new movie obsession!” by Entertainment Weekly, and Bloody-Disgusting.com described seeing it as “the greatest night of your life.”

The much-anticipated arrival of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray comes as the sequel, Birdemic II: The Resurrection, is being readied for theatrical release in 2011.

Both the Blu-ray and DVD of BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR are filled with an abundance of hilarious special features. Additionally, two songs, “This Is Birdemic” and “Hangin’ Out With My Family,” are being released to coincide with the movie’s DVD/Blu-ray release.
