The main feature was very interesting if somewhat overbearing on the doom. It was a lot of fun hearing so called "experts" theorize on what "The Lost Book of Nostradamus" means and how it ties in with the Mayan calendar. While some of the things that are discussed seem quite absurd , it also good to think about what would happen if such events weren't just theories or prophesies but came true. If you had an enjoyable , thought provoking time watching the blockbuster film "2012", this will complement it nicely.8/10
Nostradamus 2012" arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer utilizing in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The presentation is very pleasing to the eye. The best feature of the the transfer is the perfectly natural look of the interview segments. The above average CGI work looks great, with some very nice color saturation. There were some minor nits to pick with vintage footage that demonstrates some heavy grain and noticeable damage. Fortunately this doesn't take away from the experience as a whole.8/10
Audio is provided by a strong DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track. The catastrophes that are interpreted in the feature benefit from solid, punchy bass. Sound effects are presented well , but could have benefited from a wider sound field. Narration and dialogue was clear and never drowned out in the mix. A satisfying track overall earns a 7.5/10
"The Lost Book of Nostradamus" (1hr30min) - Running almost as long as the main feature, the lone supplemental feature is a great one. It takes a closer look at the origins of said book as well as Nostradamus himself. Well worth taking your time to watch this right after the main feature.
