This is a remarkable look at the man behind some of the great battle strategies in history. You will get a much better idea of the man than from the also excellent, classic George C. Scott film "Patton". There is also some great insight into the men who sacrificed for the greater good during that era. I strongly recommend this title for history buffs in general and certainly WWII enthusiasts.9/10
"Patton 360: The Complete Season One" arrives on Blu-ray with a 1080p transfer in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. I found my opinion on the presentation mixed, while the vintage footage exhibits some damage and a heavy grain structure, the overall clarity and detail is was quite surprising. Colors are about average and the CG sequences use a somewhat bland palette. The current interview segments look superb. Overall this release earns a solid 7.5/10
Audio is provided by a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track. While being only 2 channel holds the mix back from utilizing surround effects for the battle recreations what is presented is a lot of fun. LFE gets a great work out with explosions, and crunching bass. Dialogue was clear and intelligible throughout. This is a solid track that could have been a stunner if a full 5.1 mix was done.8/10
There is unfortunately no bonus material included here.
